The Counselor

A bit about me...

Kaushikee has a Masters degree in Counseling from Monash University, Australia. She is a member of the Singapore Association for Counseling and a certified Art Therapist. Kaushikee also has certificates in Fertility Counseling, Youth counseling and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) which she hopes to learn more about as she continues to expand her interest in the field of mental health. Adoption has a very special place in her heart as a mother of two daughters and she counsels parents who are in the process of or who have already brought their children home. Talk Therapy has tremendous benefits for all clients no matter what the situation and Kaushikee believes that most times quicker results are achieved in this way as clients can begin distinguishing their emotions to find solutions. Humor is part of her own personal mantra and feels that depending on the situation humor can help clients move towards a positive thought process. Kaushikee is committed to helping her clients using a broad range of therapies to empower and guide them towards overcoming their own unique situation. She is a passionate Art Therapist who believes in the power of creativity in healing and uses various techniques to do so. Kaushikee takes a person-centered approach and uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as the foundation while incorporating the best approach for each individual client. Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT) is another approach that Kaushikee uses with clients who may benefit and has seen favorable results in young people. Needless to say empathy and positive affirmations are sacrosanct in any session and she believes in the tremendous power of these qualities. The Caring Chair is happy to work with children, teenagers, young adults and adults. Sessions can be online (worldwide) or face to face in Singapore. Kaushikee enjoys doing pro bono work with individuals especially the most vulnerable through other organizations in Singapore. Along with being a counselor, she is an artist, teacher and author of children’s books. Helping people on their mental well being journey requires constant growth and Kaushikee intends to further educate herself to provide the best possible service to her clients. Her plan is to continue helping as many people as she can using her vast range of skills and experiences.
